I
work interactively and have been in practice for over twenty years
providing psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, marriage counseling and couple counseling.
I
believe that every person is unique and therefore, my
approach is always individualized.
My focus is directed toward developing the
most effective ways to address each person’s needs and goals, as
well as exploring circumstances, past and present, that could be
interfering with the achievement of these goals. I am interactive and I participate in the sessions to the degree that seems helpful. This means that sometimes I'll be fairly talkative while at other times, when the person needs space to express themselves and their feelings, I'll be relatively quiet.
My
Graduate Degree is from Columbia University. I have Post
Graduate Certification in Interpersonal Psychotherapy and
Psychoanalysis and additional Certification in the Supervision of Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. I have also received specialized training in the treatment of
trauma including working with survivors of abuse. I have extensive
experience working with: interpersonal and relationship problems marriage and couple counseling,
anxiety and panic attacks, depression, mood disorders, bipolar disorders, personality
disorders, substance abuse and ACOAs, obsessive compulsive disorders
and dissociative disorders.
Choosing
a therapist is an important decision and sometimes it is a difficult
one to make as well. Please feel free to phone or email to ask
questions and have an opportunity to speak with me more directly. If
you wish, I will arrange an appointment for a consultation.
